Saskatchewan motorists, cyclists, motorcyclists and pedestrians have until April 27th to nominate and vote for the worst roads they have travelled on. Worst roads have potholes, crumbling and fractured pavement, lack of infrastructure for safe use by all road users, and poor or no signage. In addition to personal safety concerns, according to CAA’s Cost of Poor Roads Report, Saskatchewan drivers can expect an annual cost of around $97 for increased vehicle repairs due to the poor quality of roads. Photos of nominated worst roads will be accepted, with a reminder for those submitting photos to do so in a safe environment.

There are four easy steps to nominate and vote for your worst road:

1. Click https://caaworstroads.com/clubs/saskatchewan/vote/
2. Select a road - municipal or provincial - and a specific segment or section
3. Identify what type of road user you are – motorist, cyclist, motorcyclist, or pedestrian and select the ‘problem’ from the provided drop-down menu
4. Vote - one vote per road per email every 24 hours

A new feature to this year’s worst roads campaign is a Google Map Locater that visualizes vote distribution across the province. It pinpoints the current locations of the nominated roads that are receiving votes. The Top Ten Worst Roads will be revealed on April 28, 2021.

The purpose of CAA’s Worst Roads campaign is to help highlight problems and dangerous road conditions in the province and to encourage decision makers to address the roads in most need of improvements. Working towards good roads and safety for all road users is a priority for CAA Saskatchewan.
